Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm to 9.40pm, depending on school holidays and public holidays in the canton of Vaud.
Over a period of approximately 40 weeks, exam preparation includes the following subjects:
- French,
- English and/or German,
- Economics and Society (Accounting, Law, Economics)
- Information Technology, Communication and Administration (ICA)
The course is purely theoretical and lasts for one year (the course starts in April).
Presentation of the curriculum
The federal Vocation Education and Training Diploma in Commerce is aimed at anyone who :
- is interested in current economic events and company life,
- wants to understand and take part in the processes involved in running a company and wants to take part,
- is interested in current technologies and communication channels,
- enjoys communicating with a variety of people,
- has knowledge of German and English, and feels ready to make ambitious progress in communicating in business German and English.
The federal Vocation Education and Training Diploma in Commerce guarantees that students receive training adapted to companies’ changing needs and job market challenges. It enables holders of the CFC in commerce to be in great demand on the job market and to choose from a wide range of careers, whether in public or private companies, multinationals, or small businesses.

Requirements to be admitted to the exams
Participants in our article 32 course must have reached the age of majority. They must have at least five years’ professional experience, including at least two years in the commercial sector.
The vocational training department checks the eligibility requirements for the CFC examinations and decides on any equivalence of examinations or professional experience. Enrolment in our course is subject to the issue by the CPA (Professional Certification for Adults) of your certificate of admission to the final CFC examination.
Requirements to qualify for cantonal funding
You must be resident in the Canton of Vaud. Candidates who meet this condition are entitled to funding for their training from the Canton of Vaud.
Requirements for passing the Federal VET Diploma in Commerce
To pass the school-based part of the programme:
- The candidate has a satisfactory average grade of 4.0
- The candidate has no more than 2 failed grades
- The sum of the differences between the negative grades and the average must not exceed 2 points
To pass the company-based part of the programme:
- The candidate has a satisfactory average grade of 4.0
- The candidate has no more than one failed grade, but not less than 3.0
